The patient was a 30 year old male with eosinophilic pneumonia. The patient also has splenomegaly. FISH analysis identified a CHIC2 deletion (surrogate for FIP1L1-PDGFRA fusion gene).

Final diagnosis: Myeloproliferative neoplasm with eosinophilia associated with FIP1L1-PDGFRA
