A nucleated red blood cell (NRBC) exhibiting basophilic stippling. The cell shows a round, centrally located nucleus with condensed chromatin, and the cytoplasm contains multiple fine, blue granular inclusions consistent with basophilic stippling, representing aggregated ribosomal RNA. This image was taken from a major beta thalasemia patient in the hematology lab at Varastegan Institute for Medical Sciences.
