Peripheral blood smear from a 1-year-8-month-old male with severe thrombocytopenia on an EDTA tube, showing a platelet count of 23,000/µL. Multiple platelet clumps are visible, causing pseudothrombocytopenia. Repeating the CBC on a citrate tube corrected the platelet count to 207,900/µL.
