The CardioPulmonary Bypass pump soon after priming was clogged with milky fluid.

The lipid profile study done on the sample showed normal levels of total cholesterol 186 mg/dl (normal<200 mg/dl), low level of HDL cholesterol 11 mg/dl (normal 35-70 mg/dl) and very high triglyceride levels of 1500 mg/dl (normal <150 mg/dl).

Child was later diagnosed as having isolated hypertriglyceridemia

Plasma is clear if triglyceride levels are <400 mg/dL and cloudy when levels are higher due to VLDL (and/or chylomicron) particles becoming large enough to scatter light1.
