The blood film of a patient with sickle cell/ beta 0 thalassemia compound heterozygosity shows one sickle cell, boat-shaped cells, target cells, three nucleated red cells, anisocytosis, poikilocytosis. Many of the red cells contain Pappenheimer bodies.
