Foamy histiocytes in a bone marrow aspiration aren’t characteristic of a particular desease and may be seen in a variety of conditions (post-chemotherapy, marrow damage, hemophagocytosis and storage disorders). This bone marrow aspirate smear was from a 10-years-old patient suspected to have a lysosomal storage disease.
