40-year-old female presented with deranged renal function. Ultrasonography revealed an enlarged left kidney. Left renal biopsy showed amyloidosis and protein electrophoresis revealed a monoclonal gammopathy. A bone marrow trephine biopsy was done for workup, which showed probable amyloid deposits intervening between cellular areas; there was apple green bifringence under polarized light.
