Peripheral blood smear from a patient with a diagnosis of idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome. The WBC was 30k/ul with 60%; eosinophils. Cytogenetics were normal, no evidence of FIP1L1-PDGFRA fusion gene or rearrangement of PDGFRB or FGFR1 was detected.
